Congratulations for being one of the 100 Garden Moments we announced today.
In celebration of Canada’s Year of the Garden 2022, we thought it would be appropriate to identify 100 ‘Garden Moments of Canada’. Events, activities and organizations that have contributed to the development of Canada’s garden culture, the ornamental horticulture sector and the country.
Led by the Centre for Canadian Historical Horticultural Studies, and supported by Know History, we researched and surveyed to arrived with over 200 events and activities. We then ask a jury of 6 to select 100 ‘Garden Moments of Canada’ since 1867. https://livethegardenlife.gardenscanada.ca/100-garden-moments/
These 100 Garden Moments of Canada are the base for setting up Canada’s Garden Hall of Fame, an important educational legacy of the Year of the Garden 2022. Our goal is add to these Garden Moments and to also add Garden Hall of Famers, as we develop Canada’s Garden Hall Of Fame. The ultimate goal is to celebrate garden events, activities, organizations and leaders on an annual basis and to make it easy for the public to have access to the development and impact of Canada’s garden culture.
