Highlights

The Parry Sound and District Horticultural Society ran a raffle draw through the winter with 6 prizes being one of 2 cash prizes, 2 garden consultations or 2 spring residential garden cleanups. All except the cash prizes were donated hours from our members. We also had a potluck meet and greet at our first meeting of the year that was well attended. At each meeting during the year, we were able to offer discounted plants from a local garden business or local vendors prior to Christmas. We conducted our usual plant sale and garden tour.

Society/Club Volunteer HoursThe volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024!
