Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events

During 2025 we held our annual plant sale and once again, it was a great success and widely supported by the community. In February, our society entered a float in our Annnual Winterama Parade. Our strawberry social had guests and visitors from a number of clubs from District 16 and David Hawke entertained close to 80 people. Despite a challenging growing year, we had almost 40 entries to our annual flower show. We had a variety of very interesting speakers and workshops throughout the year.

Highlights

Despite really cold temperatures some of our members entered a float in the local winterama parade. Our speakers included topics on square-foot gardening; dahlias; monarch butterflies; the benefits of herbs. Our speakers were both from the area as well as using the expertise of our own members.

Society/Club Volunteer HoursThe volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024!
