Highlights

Seedy Saturday increases in popularity with attendance over 500, well attended speaker sessions, tons of seeds available, garden related vendors, Q&A booths for master gardeners, orchid society, our horticultural society & a popular booth with a gentleman with tremendous knowledge of monarch butterflies. The event raises $2000+ each year for the Essex & Area Food Bank. Working with the town we have installed a memorial bench dedicated to members who have gone before us & planted a native tree at the historic Essex Railroad Station.

Society/Club Volunteer HoursThe volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024!
