| Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events | This year, 2026, is the 100th anniversary of the Moorefield & District Horticulture Society. We are hosting our District annual meeting in April in conjunction with a celebration of the anniversary. As a society project to commemorate this momentous occasion we completed a 50/50 project with our Township of Mapleton in 2025 that replaced some degrading stone garden planters at the entrance to the park and ball diamonds in Moorefield with a larger set of stone enclosed gardens. Rod iron gates were placed in the gardens. | ||||||||

| Highlights | In 2025 we looked after 11 community gardens with members doing a lot of supplemental watering as a result of the dry weather. We completed our 100th anniversary project with the township in May. New gardens with rod iron gates were built at the entrance to the park and ball diamonds in Moorefield, replacing very old stone planters that were crumbling. We held 8 meetings, including 2 full shows and 2 mini shows. We had 6 guest speakers including one on Synergistic designs. A plant sale was held in June and a tour to Kepplecroft Garden in July. | ||||||||

| Society/Club Volunteer Hours | The volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024! Entry Instructions: | ||||||||
