Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events

1) Plant sale on May 10th at the Schomberg Community Farm in partnership with the Schomberg Community Farm and the Lake Simcoe South Master gardeners. 8am - 2pm and will feature hard to find perennials, native plants, heirloom tomato plants and vegetables and annual Mother's Day Baskets.
2) The Annual Garden Tour is back by popular demand. It will feature 8 gardens and properties in and around Schomberg. The tour runs from 10am - 4pm and will be in collaboration with ARTS Society King, the Schomberg Community Farm and local restaurants and merchants.
3) We will be partnering with a local theatre group and will attend a performance in August.
4) A snow-shoe outing with identifying wildlife tracks and dormant flora.
5) Speakers: Maria Shtemberg : Container Gardening, Kristen Martyn: Backyard birds, Kathleen Gorsline: Squarefoot Gardening, Karen Hollingshead: Soil to table, Karly McDougall: Sustainable Gardening Hacks", Brendon Hebor "The Future of Food and Farming".

Highlights

The Society celebrated its 90th Anniversary in grand style on April 19th 2025. The event took place in the same location where the first meeting was held in 1935. The feature, celebrity speaker was no other than Frankie Ferragine. The event featured a flower show, an extensive archival display, door prizes, flower pot give-aways and a delicious sandwich, charcuterie and dessert buffet. In attendance was the honourable mayor, Steve Pellegrini and ward councillors Mary Aselstine and Jennifer Anstey as well as District 15 director, Doreen Coyne.
