| Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events | We don't usually celebrate our anniversary - but that will be different in 2027 when we'll be 75 years. Our main annual event is the Garden Festival (now at 23 years). It also contains a Silent Auction, Raffle, Kids activities, and Master Gardeners demonstration. A new fundraiser was added this year - family photo shoot opportunities in a fall setting. | ||||||||

| Highlights | The addition of a Kids activity program at the Garden Festival increased interest for the youth, as did our partnering with the municipality's summer day camp program. Three events are held in conjunction with the library staff to remind kids about horticulture - planting a Mother's Day container, painting pumpkins at Hallowe'en, and designing a Christmas planter. Although we don't have a actual youth division, we do host special events for the kids. Harriston has partnered with the Arthur Society in bringing special guest presenters . | ||||||||

| Society/Club Volunteer Hours | The volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024! Entry Instructions: | ||||||||
