Fundraisers

Our regular Fundraiser is the Annual Perennial Plant Sale in Spring. It was a very good fundraiser this year, with excellent participation by our community and contributed to by our members through their hard work digging plants from member's gardens and donating from their own. The community anticipates this sale. It is enhanced by working together with other local organizations ( garden or environment related) who are invited to participate. This builds community involvement and awareness of organizations within our town. This is an excellent fundraiser.
We had a couple raffles this past year where tickets are sold for an item, and raises smaller funds.
Our club sponsored the Silent Auction at the Fall D16 Seminar/meeting and it was very successful. Items were donated by local businesses within our town and attending members of the Seminar were able to bid. It was an excellent fund raiser. This opportunity rotates through the 17 participating horticultural clubs.

Highlights

The Wasaga Beach Horticultural Society had a very active year. Members participated in maintaining community gardens, tagging butterflies, instructing workshops on gardening within the community, held our Annual Perennial Plant Sale in May which is a huge undertaking but very successful as a fundraiser, and organized/ sponsored the Silent Auction at the Fall D16 Seminar/Meeting in 2025. Our regular meetings featured speakers gleaned from the Master Gardeners of Ontario, and from expert speakers on a variety of gardening topics.
