The May Plant Sale being held on May 23, 2026 has been a very successful sale each year .

Brantford Garden Club Flower Show will be held on July 18, 2026 and is one of the largest Garden Club Flower Shows in Ontario !.

In 2026 the Brantford Garden Club will be 174 years old and is one of the oldest Garden Clubs in Ontario!

The Garden Club will be busy making plans for its 175th Anniversary in 2027 and will be hosting the OHA District Six AGM in April 2027.

One scholarship , two awards and one bursary are given to four post secondary students pursuing horticultural programs at the college level every year.

Members look forward to the garden tours of members' gardens held in June and August and open to club members.

June Bus trip to private gardens and garden centres is always a sell out and is enjoyed by the members.

Members enjoy maintaining a small garden of vegetables and cut flowers at the Hospice and also a garden at Lions Park.

May Plant Sale :

Good advertising and organization and healthy specimens donated by the members made the Plant Sale

a huge success netting over $4000 !

Monthly Meeting Raffles

Approximately fifteen garden centres and florists and some members donate raffle prizes for the Monthly Raffle for
every monthly meeting;

in exchange the donors are each given a free ad in the Garden Club monthly newsletter

Approximately thirty raffle prizes are donated each month

Raffle tickets are 3 for $1 ; a very reasonable price

The Garden Club Raffles convenor visits each vendor on the day of the club meeting and collects the

raffle prizes which are then brought to the club meeting.

The convenor's assistant calls out the winning prize numbers after the guest speaker 's presentation..

The Raffle is a huge success and proceeds are used to help pay for the guest speakers and

scholarship and bursaries awarded annually.

Approximately $150 is the monthly profit from the Raffle .

Highlights

170th Summer Flower Show one of the largest held in Ontario had 575 entries!

One scholarship and three bursaries were awarded .

May Plant sale was a huge success raising over $4000.

Thirty Youth Group members entered specimens in the monthly Horticulture Competitions.

Members Gardens Tours were greatly enjoyed.

Membership totals at 304

Bus trip sold out .

Thirteen members received volunteer awards and membership pins.

Dorothy Caskenette was the OHA Honour Roll recipient .

Members maintain the Hospice and Lions Park gardens .
