Minden & District Horticultural Society designs and plants the public gardens located in the Township of Minden Hills. You will notice a lovely garden at the front of the fire station on Highway 35 as you enter the town and may consider investigating Minden Village for refreshment and a stretch. Please take the time to walk around Minden Village and enjoy the gardens including around the planters and flower boxes at the township offices on Milne Street, then by the Cenotaph and in the Village Green across from Up River Trading on Bobcaygeon Road, as well as in planters along Bobcaygeon Road and the flower boxes on the rails of the Bobcaygeon Road bridge, as well as the canoe and other plantings along Invergordon Avenue.
While there, check out the Minden Riverwalk tour, a Stepping into Nature project by the Haliburton County Master Gardeners, along the Gull River in Minden. It is an easy and level walk where you can earn learn about the biodiversity of the Haliburton Highlands. The virtual guide can be accessed through the Stqry app on your smart phone. Soon will be added the Minden Boardwalk tour.

February - 1st Saturday, Pot Luck Luncheon, check our website for the location
March & April at 1:00 p.m.
May to November at 7:00 p.m.
We have an interesting speaker at our general meetings, a small discussion of on-going business, a break for refreshments and a chance to meet and converse with like-minded others. We hold smaller plant shows two or three times a year, and have committees and a board to assist with if you want to get a little further involved. Our Junior Horticultural group is a welcoming introduction to plants and gardening for children. We also have a few excursions every year to horticulturally-related places, local and some not-so-local. We invite you and your friends and family to join us.
