District 4

About Us

President’s Message 2026

Fellow gardeners and friends,

As we look toward another season of growth, I’m reminded of the quiet power held in every seed we plant. A garden teaches us patience, resilience, and the joy of nurturing life—values that guide The Norwood and District Horticultural Society year after year.

This year, I encourage each of you to explore something new in your garden. Whether it’s a heritage vegetable, a pollinator friendly perennial, or a long-imagined landscape project, let curiosity lead the way. Our shared passion for cultivating beauty and biodiversity strengthens not only our gardens, but our community.

I also want to celebrate the art of volunteering, which is truly the heartbeat of the Norwood and District Horticultural Society. Every event, workshop, and garden bed thrives because of the generous hands and open hearts of our members. Volunteering is more than offering time—it’s an act of stewardship, creativity, and connection. It’s where friendships take root, skills are shared, and our collective vision blossoms into something greater than any one of us could grow alone.

Thank you for your dedication, creativity, and generosity. Together, we make our Society a place where knowledge flourishes and community spirit thrives. I look forward to seeing your gardens and our volunteer community continue to grow in the months ahead.
Warm regards,
Mary Irving~
