Zoom, Teams, & Webex available - Pat de Valence has been gardening in the Greater Toronto Area for over 25 years, and
has been a Master Gardener for 13. She is building her 3rd garden on a ½-acre plot on
the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Pat is keenly interested in garden design, particularly architectural elements and
designs that attract wildlife and are low maintenance. She favours native & species
plants, but also uses a range of non-natives to serve various design objectives. She’s an
avid follower of landscape designers using a new planting method known as matrix
planting. A frequent participant in garden tours, at home and abroad, she’s seen a wide
range of approaches to design, the use of plant material and garden ornament—some
successfully, some not. Pat’s talks share these ideas in a way that is accessible to home
gardeners and with an engaging style.
