Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society

District 4

About Us

The Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society was founded in 1919 as a member of the Ontario Horticultural Association. We’re celebrating a big anniversary this year, and we invite you to join us!
Who We Are - We are local volunteers who love to garden. We grow trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and vegetables. We think all gardening, even if it’s in a container or on a windowsill, is a joy to share.
What We Do - Our meetings are fun and informative, featuring excellent speakers, garden tours, workshops, pot lucks, excursions, and an annual sale of locally grown hardy plants. We also have an information booth at the Country Living Show in April. We plant and maintain the many public gardens in Fenelon Falls, plus create new ones, to help beautify the Village. We plant, grow and harvest vegetables at Maryboro Lodge, The Fenelon Museum. All of our produce, 320 lbs. last year, is donated to the Salvation Army Food Bank. We encourage local children and youth to take up gardening and environmental projects, working closely with the Green Team at Langton Public School. We also award an annual scholarship to a high school student who has shown an interest in horticulture. We explore ways to preserve our environment through native pollinator gardens, rainwater gardening, shoreline restoration, and tree planting.
