Brooklin-Whitby Garden Club was amalgamated in 1921, and now serves the Village of Brooklin and the Town of Whitby. We have gardening and design responsibility for a large community park, known as the Brooklin Horticultural Society Garden, in Brooklin. We provide planting and garden maintenance support for the Wounded Warriors Park of Reflection in Whitby, and the Station Gallery, also in Whitby. Our past garden programs have evolved into municipal responsible activities, continuing the long tradition of downtown hanging baskets and planters in both Whitby and Brooklin.
BWGC has activities organized with a Senior's Living Centre, and shares 3 meetings annually with the Whitby in Bloom program, joining with them to provide high profile speakers for our General Meetings in March, April and May.
Along with an annual Plant Sale, BWGC is holding a Rain Barrel Drive this year.
BWGC provides a $500 annual bursary for a Durham College Horticultural Program Student.
