Brantford Garden Club

About Us

Welcome to the Brantford Garden Club!

The Brantford Garden Club was founded in 1852 and is the oldest horticultural society in the province.
Its objectives are to encourage an interest in horticulture and to promote the protection of the environment.
The Club's emblem is the daffodil which resembles the telephone invented by Alexander Graham
Bell in Brantford.

Millennium Scholarship Program started in 2000 to encourage and assist qualifying students to study horticulture at the college, university or apprenticeship program level.

Club activities:
- Annual June bus excursion to private gardens & garden centres in Southern Ontario
- Volunteering opportunities at the following events /locations
* monthly meetings held the second Thursday of the month except July & August
* May Plant Sale -Lions Park auditorium
* July Flower Show -Civic Centre auditorium
* maintaining the Waterwise Demonstration Garden at Tranquility Hall

730 pm second Thursday September - June ; Brantford Civic Centre auditorium
Each meeting includes:
a guest speaker, coming events announcements, plant sale table with plant material donated
by members, lending library, floral competitions( design & horticultural entries),
raffle with lots of prizes, social with refreshments.
Newsletter is emailed to each member in advance of the monthly meeting
Visitors: $2. per meeting

Due to the covid pandemic all remaining Garden Club meetings for 2020 have been cancelled.

Club membership to the Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington.
