Welcome to the Brantford Garden Club!.............
.celebrating our 171th Anniversary in 2023 ...

Affiliate of the Ontario Horticultural Association (GardenOntario) and District Six GardenOntario.

The Brantford Garden Club founded in 1852 and originally the Brantford Horticultural Society is the oldest horticultural society in the province and a registered non profit organization. Charitable BN #132093451RR0001.
Its objectives are to encourage an interest in horticulture and to promote the protection of the environment.
The Club's emblem is the daffodil which resembles the telephone invented by Alexander Graham Bell in Brantford.

Millennium Scholarship Program started in 2000 to encourage and assist qualifying students to study horticulture or environment sciences at the college, university or apprenticeship program level.

The Brantford Garden Club Bedding Plant Award
- annual award at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture
-designed to assist 2 students from the incoming class as their journey begins at the school.

Consideration for a scholarship will also be given to a Brant County student entering post secondary studies in horticulture or environmental sciences.

Club activities:
- 2023 June bus excursion to private gardens & garden centres in Southern Ontario.

- Volunteering opportunities at the following events /locations
* monthly meetings held the second Thursday of the month
except July & August
* May Plant Sale -Lions Park auditorium -May 27, 2023 8am -12 noon
* Stedman Hospice Garden -new plantings for the kitchen & cut flower gardens planned for 2023 ;
the Garden Club's 170 th anniversary project started in 2022.
*Brantford Garden Club Flower Show July 15, 2023. Lions Park Auditorium 2:30 pm-4 pm

Meetings: 730 pm second Thursday September - June .

Lions Park auditorium, 20 Edge Street, Brantford , Ont

Each meeting includes: ***subject to current covid safety protocol at time of meeting
a guest speaker, coming events announcements, plant sale table with plant material ,magazines ,etc donated by members, lending library, floral competitions( design & horticultural entries),
raffle with lots of prizes, social with refreshments.

Newsletter is emailed to each member in advance of the monthly meeting

Non-members: $ 5.00 per meeting
