Elora and Salem Horticultural Society
The Elora and Salem Horticultural Society is celebrating it's 171st year, making us one of the oldest continuously operating societies in the province. We thank our enthusiastic membership for their perseverance in making this a reality.
Come on out and join us. It is very rewarding to be able to participate in the beautification of our community through the planting and maintenance of select community flower beds. Some of the perks of a membership are the opportunities to share gardening stories with other gardeners, or to share some of our over achieving and prized plants.
We also offer an annual Student Bursary, and hold an Annual Spring Plant Sale. For 2021, due to Covid-19, the Plant Sale may be put on hold for now as it's not clear yet whether or not it can be held safely, but there is talk possibly of a Fall Plant Sale....keep checking in for updates, you will not want to miss out.
Plan to attend our monthly garden related meetings which will be held virtually by ZOOM for now, until we can meet in person again. We are still in the process of working out the scheduling, so again please keep checking for updates. Regardless of format, these meetings are a great way to learn from the experience of knowledgeable guest speakers. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or a beginner, there is something for everyone.

NEW for 2021..... due to the Society's concern for it's members health and safety due to COVID-19, we will now be holding our meetings virtually by ZOOM until further notice! A zoom link will be emailed to our membership prior to the meetings. Make sure your membership is up to date! Or, if you have been thinking about getting one, now is a good time to contact us in order to get one. Our meetings are free, informative, fun and you can attend without leaving your house!
Watch for our newsletters and this webpage for updates. Also don't forget to check out our Facebook page, and "like" us so you will always know what's coming up next.
Learn from knowledgeable guest speakers. Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm unless otherwise stated.
A membership entitles you to attend garden program meetings for free, to receive our Society Newsletter 4 times per year, to participate in one or all of our community programs and also to benefit from our guest speakers and other members experience and gardening knowledge.
Best of all, it helps nurture and inspire the gardener in us all!
