Ancaster Horticultural Society

District 6

About Us

Ancaster Gardeners are a group of over 300 enthusiastic members whose mission is to beautify the Ancaster community while encouraging people to get involved and "come dig with us".

Ancaster Gardeners are a friendly group and we welcome visitors and guests at any time. You will find our members are all very approachable, cover all age groups and are only too willing to exchange gardening information!

Come out and join us - we'd love to see you there!

Our Plant Sale is our major fundraising event of the year and supports the Municipal plantings and educational programs of the Horticultural Society within our community. It's held at the Food Basics Plaza in Ancaster on the Saturday of the Victoria Day weekend every year from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. come rain or shine!

We organize and judge the Ancaster Trillium Awards, which take place in June and July each year, for the 125 prettiest front gardens in Ancaster. The award ceremony is held in August at Fieldcote Park and Museum.

Our gardening crews plant and maintain the Municipal Gardens at 3 locations in Ancaster and the gardens on the grounds of Fieldcote Museum.

We provide a Bursary annually to a student in the Horticulture Technician program at Mohawk College.
