Welcome to the Brantford Garden Club!
celebrating our 173 rd Anniversary in 2025 ...

Affiliate of the Ontario Horticultural Association (GardenOntario) and District Six GardenOntario.

The Brantford Horticultural Society founded in 1852 and commonly known as the Brantford Garden Club is one of the oldest horticultural societies in the province and is a registered non profit organization.
Charitable BN #132093451RR0001.

Its objectives are to encourage an interest in horticulture and to promote the protection of the environment.

The Club's emblem is the daffodil which resembles the telephone invented by Alexander Graham Bell in Brantford.

The Brantford Garden Club's First Year Student Engagement and Aptitude in the Pursuit of Horticultural Excellence Award

To recognize a Year 1 student(s) who, by the end of their second semester, has demonstrated a strong aptitude for horticulture and has engaged fully in the pursuit of horticultural excellence.
The award seeks to honour both academic and practical performance, including teamwork and workplace professionalism, in alignment with the School's unique blend of theoretical and hands on learning.
Two $500 awards given annually
The 2025 award recipients are Nicholas Loch and Brianna Picanco.

$500 Bursary to a Niagara College Horticulture student

Brantford Garden Club Scholarship
Consideration will be given to a Brant County student entering post secondary studies in horticulture or environmental sciences.
The 2025 scholarship recipient is Colby Young .

Applicants may apply to the Brantford Garden Club Scholarship Program by April 30th .

OHA (Ontario Horticultural Association ) Scholarship
The OHA offers an annual scholarship up to $1000 to an OHA member or family member who is pursuing post secondary education in a horticultural field.

Club activities for 2026

June bus excursion TBA
Tickets $_____ per member will be on sale at the April and May meetings .

- Volunteering opportunities at the following events /locations
* monthly meetings held the second Thursday of the month
except July & August 730 pm
Volunteers can sign up to help in the kitchen and as greeters, etc.

* May Plant Sale. May 23 , 2026 8 am -12 noon - Lions Park auditorium , 20 Edge St.

* Stedman Hospice Garden ; annual flowers & vegetables plot
the Garden Club's 170 th anniversary project started in 2022.
provides vegetables for the Hospice kitchen and fresh cut flower for the hospice .

Each meeting includes: ***subject to current covid safety protocol at time of meeting
a guest speaker, coming events announcements, plant sale table with plant material ,magazines ,etc donated by members, lending library,
Floral competitions( design & horticultural entries),
includes a Youth Horticultural Competitions Program ( the Budding Gardeners) .
Raffle with lots of prizes; Social with refreshments.

Newsletter is emailed to each member in advance of the monthly meeting

Non-members: $ 5.00 per meeting
