Riverdale Horticultural Society
District 5
The Riverdale Horticultural Society was founded in 1916 and continues today as a group of novice to expert gardeners. We are a group of friendly folks located in Riverdale, across the Don River Valley from downtown Toronto, who are curious and love to learn about, and improve, the plants in our lives!
During the summer months, we care for an award-winning pollinator garden in Withrow Park. Tended to by volunteers, we have fun while helping to beautify Riverdale.
We learn by doing, from each other, and from our guest speakers who are experts in many areas related to horticulture at home and around the world! We encourage everyone to participate, ask questions, share experiences and expertise.

During COVID-19 restrictions, we meet virtually using Zoom on the second Wednesday of every month. We hold a monthly photo contest and learn from expert guest speakers in the fields of horticulture & landscaping, ecology, floral design, indoor plant culture, garden photography, even cooking!
Our members include new gardeners to experts. Whether you have plants on a window sill or balcony, participate in a community garden, or have a yard of your own, everyone has something to learn and contribute. Most of all, we love to share stories and friendships.
