Societies in Ontario
Belmont & Area Horticultural Society
The Belmont & Area Horticultural Society is relaxed, informal and subscribes to the motto “Gardeners just want to have fun.”
We are in the heart of a farming community and believe in a “roll up the shirt sleeves” attitude to getting things done. And like our community, we are defined by active volunteerism and a commitment to the environment.
Being small, but creative, we established a working relationship with the Municipality of Central Elgin for hanging flower baskets on the main street, planters on the bridge railings, and the installation of trees and perennials in parks and recreation areas, with future plans for pollinator patches along the newly proposed Trail System.
Formally established in 2005, our Society is a member of the Thames Valley District of the Ontario Horticultural Association (aka Garden Ontario) and is located within the beautiful farmland southeast of London.
