Preston Horticultural Society Overview
The Preston Horticultral Society is a non-profit organization that meets the first Wednesday of the month, with exception for January, July and August at the Allen Reuter Centre (507 King St., Preston, Cambridge). Meeting are held at 7pm with a social coffee and goodies first.
Our Mandate is to encourage the interest and improvement by planting in our public garden: "Gore Park" on the corner of King St. and Concession St. (at the stop light), and promoting gardening in our own yards and balconies.
Whether you are a new gardener or an experienced gardener, members are encouraged to attend monthly educational meetings that feature guest speakers, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations. A plant sale is held each year in the spring to raise extra monies. The plants that we sell have been potted or grown from slips by our members.
The yearly membership fee is $10.00 per person. If you cannot get to the next meeting, just mail the membership form along with your fee to our address and a membership card will be mailed to you.
Meetings and topics by monthly speakers are announced in the "Cambridge Times" under Around Town and "The Record" under Community Calendar.
