The Wheatley Horticultural Society, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Trails, is excited to invite the public, residents, students and supporters to help us celebrate the grand opening of the Wheatley Arboretum & Learning Trail.
This newly created Arboretum and Learning Trail is located behind the Wheatley Arena. The trail is approximately 1.3 kms in length and is surrounded by approximately 200 newly planted trees and plants in themed walk ways, which feature park benches and outdoor workout equipment.
We have several activities planned, including yoga at 10 a.m., ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., tree planting demonstrations and tree give aways with the Lower Thames Conservation authority, children’s activities including the CK Play Randers, an opportunity to meet the Native Plant Gardener, Rick Gray, author of the recently published “The Gardener’s Guide to Native Plants of the Southern Georgian Bay Region”, plus demonstrations of the outdoor fitness equipment.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
