Native Pollinator Plants
June 7, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
A presentation by Ashley Hammell of Pollinate Barrie entitled “Barrie – A Bee City” on June 7th ,2022, at 7:00pm at the ANAF Club (52 Morrow Rd).
Ash is an activist, educator and native ecosystem “nerd” (her words) working with the David Suzuki Butterflyway Project. She co-founded Pollinate Barrie, grew up shoeless in the Simcoe County wilderness, and truly believes most hard days can be solved with bumblebees!
A Bee City is a designation that connects people, places, and pollinators. Barrie’s commitment is to protect and create pollinator habitats, provide community education, and celebrate our pollinators. Becoming a Bee City means there will be more focus on pollinator conservation within current parks and future urban planning.
