Cannington Horticultural Society once again proudly offers youth members a summer challenge! This year the focus is on planting natives and encouraging habitat for the pollinators. ‘Bee the Change: Plant Natives’ says it all! All participants will receive some free native plants to get them started, learn about what grows in our area and who it attacts. There was a kick off workshop held on March 4, 2023 which taught winter sowing of native flower seeds and those who attended went home with a head start on the growing season. But it’s not too late to join, more free natives will be available – you just need to register!
There will be $400 in prize money awarded for the top six gardens in the challenge. Two age groups for the Youth: 8 to 12 and 13 to 17. Get growing with us!
For complete details and how to register with us email: chsyouthprograms@gmail.com
OR sign up at any of the CHS Monthly Meetings. Deadline to register for this challenge is late June.
Join us and bee part of the fun learning about natives! Only $3 for a Youth Membership. CHS offers a complete program both in the Flower and Photography schedule throughout the season for youth members. Get your Yearbook when you register and join the fun.
