CHS June Meeting: COMPOST

June 24 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Learn how to ‘feed your soil’ with compost! Balanced soil and biology are the key to natural sustainability. Presenters Nicole Brouwer and John Montague will explain the basics on organic compost and why it’s so important, drawing from over 30 years of experience and the work done at The Glen Roads Organics. A leader in teaching and producing thermal compost, organic regenerative farming practices and in building healthy, resilient biologically diverse soils.

Nicole graduated from University of Toronto with Honours Bachelor of Science and a diploma from Durham College, and is currently involved in regenerative agriculture practices and organic food production at The Glen Roads Organics. John is a Holistic Soil Consultant and dedicated to teaching people how to heal their soil. John studied with Dr. Elaine Ingham of The Soil Foodweb Inc. at Rodale Institute, and the University of Guelph. As operations manager of The Glen Road Organics, John takes pride in producing bio-diverse compost and potting mixes as well as teaching organic farming and gardening practices.

An excellent opportunity to learn about the importance of compost and how you may use this knowledge to improve your own gardens and farmland. We welcome you to join us, bring a friend and learn with CHS.

June Flower Show – we encourage all CHS members to get involved with the Flower Show – see pages 30 & 31 of the CHS 2024 Yearbook for complete listing of classes.
