Plant Sale -the opportunity for members to purchase plantings donated and cared for by fellow members
Bus Tour - a carefree day of exploring new gardens, displays and perhaps picking up a new planting for the garden. The tour included: Royal Botanical Gardens, Harper's Garden Centre and Northland Nursery
Local Gems Garden Tour -six private gardens were opened up to both members and the public in the Hockley Valley area. The owners were only too happy to share and discuss their garden spaces. The tour ended with an informal gathering in one of the gardens where light refreshments were served.

Highlights

For years, the Orangeville and District Horticultural Society has managed several community gardens in Orangeville. As town leadership continues to grow and change, something was getting lost and disconnected. A meeting was arranged between town officials and concerned Society members to work towards preserving this long standing tradition of town beautification. Going forward there is hope for greater partnership and recognition of the important work managing the gardens done by Society members.

Society/Club Volunteer HoursThe volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024!
