Fundraisers

At our annual flower show in August, for the past 2 years, we have asked some members to bring in flowers from their garden. We use these flowers to make up 3 bouquets and raffle them off at the end of the day.

Highlights

EYGC enjoyed a lively year of learning, community, and gardens. Monthly meetings featured expert speakers on houseplants, native stewardship, vertical vegetables, clematis, mini-hostas, tools, and urban trees, alongside flower shows, seed exchange, and our AGM awards night. Highlights included pop-up garden tours, a successful Shed Sale and Plant Sale, the Annual Flower Show, a Whistling Gardens road trip, Canada Day Parade, Legion gardening, and strong volunteer spirit—celebrating friendship, growth, and the joy of gardening.

Society/Club Volunteer HoursThe volunteer hours we spend illustrates how valuable we are in our communities and across Ontario. As an analytical tool, volunteer hours can also be used to determine where time is being spent within a Society/Club, District, or organization which helps us make important decisions on programs, fundraising, and budget. For instance, horticultural Society/Club members volunteered 445,387 hours in 2024!
