Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events

Planned activities for 2026 comprise the following: hosting eight guest speakers, organizing two member social events, coordinating a variety of fundraisers, maintaining five community gardens, conducting both garden tours and one bus tour, facilitating workshops, holding three judged horticultural and design shows along with one member choice design show, and running a photo contest. Additionally, the organization will publish twelve newsletters and utilize the MHS website and social media platforms for communication and promotion.

Other initiatives include supporting a local youth association in establishing gardens at their new facility, as well as assisting with the design and planting of gardens at a community senior residence. Engagement with the public will also be achieved through the MHS booth at the June Dickinson Days event and participation in the MHS Fall Horticultural and Design Show.

Highlights

The Manotick Horticultural Society (MHS) marked its 95th anniversary with community events, awards, a youth activity, and a new bursary program for students in horticulture and environmental studies. Regular activities like garden tours, horticultural shows, and community garden upkeep continued to encourage fellowship and stewardship. We also updated website FAQs, added an In-Memoriam tribute, and launched a secure member login portal.
