Anniversary And/Or Other Special Events

-This year was the Society’s 70th Anniversary. Activities included a special Flower Show and High Tea Luncheon, complete with members wearing Facinator Hats made by members.As well as several collage posters depicting historical pictures of past members, flower shows and special events. The tea was well attended by 130 people from both immediate local and district areas.
- A collaborative outdoor celebration with the Assiginack Museum (also their 70th anniversary) was held with cake, punch and musical entertainment. Well attended by tourist, Mayor and Councillors and local residents.
-Extensive plantings and maintainence of the Museum Grounds and the 13 planter barrels situated around the township.
-Participation in Summerfest and Fall Fair parades with floats designed and built by club members.
-Guest speaker at some evenings meetings and other occasions.
-A special demonstration from the local school Robotics Team was excellent, prior to their international competition in the USA.

1.Flower Bulbs purchased through the OHA; all but 3 packets sold.
2 Annual Plant sale held in May 2025.
3. Penny Table at our General meetings 2 times per fiscal year.
4. Annual flower show and luncheon with admission cost of $8/person.

Highlights

This past year the Assiginack Horticultural Society celebrated our 70th Anniversary with a flower show and high tea luncheon with an attendance of 130 people. As well a joint celebration was held with the Assiginack Museum also celebrating its 70th Anniversary . The collaborative event was held on the Museum grounds with cake, punch and live music, and was well. attended by local residents, tourists, the Mayor and Councillors. Special banners depicting the 70th anniversary of the Society decorated several lamp post in the centre of town
