District 10

About Us

"Beautification Through Education & Experience"

Welcome to the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society. The Tillsonburg Horticultural Society was established in 1907 until 1952. In 1982, the gardening community of Tillsonburg re-emerged after a 30-year lapse and continues today as a vibrate society in District 10.

The Tillsonburg Horticultural Society is very active in our community. We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month with engaging speakers, garden tours or potluck socials.
Whether you are a novice or master gardener, our line-up of speakers will foster your creativity and bolster success in your garden. Back by popular demand is “The Panel of Knowledge”. Any gardening issue can be resolved by our experts!

We proudly design, plant and maintain five community gardens: Annandale National Historic Site (Annandale House), Bert Newman Park, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 153, Senior Centre Garden and The Station Arts Centre. We actively participate with Meals On Wheels by gifting their clients with a poinsettia during the holiday season, Turtlefest and we support the BIA Beautification. The THS coordinates a Junior Gardener Program to introduce children to the wonders of gardening. A very popular and rewarding experience for children and our volunteers. We offer $1500 annual scholarship to a student at Glendale High School who is pursuing post-secondary education in the horticultural field.

To support the community initiatives, we have our annual Garden Auction & Sale on the 3rd Tuesday in May. It is an event you won’t want to miss! We have a large assortment of trees, plants, shrubs and garden décor that is auctioned or on the sale tables.

We have both garden and bus tours that will inspire, whether learning gardening tips and tricks touring a fellow member’s yard or enjoying the sights in a coach tour.
