Lynden Horticultural Society

District 6

About Us

Lynden is a small village of about 500 people situated in the City of Hamilton, roughly between Hamilton and Brantford. Our largest industry is Winklemolen Wholesale Tree Nursery, where you often see trailers of trees going down the road.

We are also one of the oldest Horticultural Societies around, having been founded in 1928. Our Society plants the Legion and Lion's Den gardens and the Library planters. Every year we hold a Plant Sale and Flower Show and participate in the Lynden Canada Day event.

We have guest speakers on an array of topics as well as tours of various businesses and gardens with some workshops thrown in for good measure. Members also receive a regular newsletter with updates to keep informed of society news and events, so if you missed a meeting you can still find out about it in the newsletter. Also included in the newsletter are articles on various topics from here and around the world, trivia, how to's, recipes, tips, tricks, video links, garden ideas and what ever else we can think of that is plant related! We like to mix it up each newsletter so there is always something different.

We welcome gardeners or non-gardeners!
