Mount Hamilton Horticultural Society
District 6
The mission of the Mount Hamilton Horticultural Society is to educate and promote an interest in all areas of horticulture and related environmental issues. We are a charitable, non-profit organization. We make substantial donations to the Green Angels Program at the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG), the Hamilton Victory Gardens and the Neighbour to Neighbour Community Gardens. For the last twenty years, our Society has designed and maintained the gardens at Jason's House, a March of Dimes Home in a quiet neighbourhood on the west mountain. We have an ongoing beautification project at the Norman 'Pinky' Lewis Parkette in the north end of the lower city. In 2019, we will be helping to rejuvenate the garden at the West Hamilton Cenotaph which is being rededicated in honour of John Smith, OHA president in 1969 and former president of the MHHS in 1962-63 and 1986-87.
You do not have to live on Hamilton Mountain to join our Society. We welcome anyone from the Hamilton area, and beyond, to become a member.
