Markdale & District Horticultural Society
District 8
The Markdale & District Horticultural Society was founded in 1912 to help educate home gardeners and plant lovers in our community. We continue to actively manage public gardens and street planters while sharing horticultural knowledge with our members and the public.
This year, we received financial funding for our community planting activities from the Municipality of Grey Highlands, Community Foundation Grey Bruce and Friends of the Markdale Library. We greatly appreciate their support for our community activities.
Our Society members come from Chatsworth, Grey Highlands, Southgate, West Grey and a few from Owen Sound. We belong to the Ontario Horticultural Association, in District 8, and our Society is located on the north east corner of the district.
