The Belle River & District Horticultural Society will be welcoming Matt Korpan. Matt is the Executive Director of Research and Innovation for Biophi, a company which for the past 5 years has been listening to and building capacity to support growers in the greenhouse industry. Biophi is a research and development facility dedicated to advancing horticultural innovation that drives meaningful change. He will give us an update on what is happening in the industry today.
The meeting is Tuesday, May 19th and starts at 7:00 p.m. at St. Simon & St. Jude Event Centre, 267 Meunier Street, Belle River. Please remember to bring your own coffee container and bring your spouse or your friend.

The June Closing Party is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16th at the St. Simon & St. Jude Event Centre. The meeting begins at 7:00 and members are asked to bring either a cold appetizer or dessert. There will be a photo competition of member's back or front garden or special plant/item in their yard. The winners will be chosen by People's Choice voting.
Coffee, tea and water will be supplied but should members want any other non-alcoholic beverage they must bring themselves. The speaker for the evening will be Albert St. Pierre and he is going to do a history of the society. There will also be a PowerPoint presentation of pictures of events that have taken place over the years.

The Board of Directors meet usually a week before the General Meeting to plan and discuss the society’s business. They are the ambassadors of our organization and will answer questions about it or direct members to the person that will. They need your help and also appreciate it.
