Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society

District 15

About Us

The Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society was established in 1914. We are proud to carry on the vision a few gardeners had in 1914 - that of a Horticultural Society which would promote, and contribute to the beautification of the Thornhill community.

Our Society's members have a common interest in gardening and the greening of our homes and community through horticultural activities.

The Society promotes the beautification of Thornhill's public and private spaces by planting and maintaining trees, plants, shrubs and flowers at several community locations.

Scholarships are provided to Thornhill students enrolled in full-time studies related to Horticulture and/or Environmental Sciences.

Our Society's members continue to pursue activities and programmes which ensure that we remain relevant and resourceful in an ever-changing time and climate.
Our members (novice to long-time gardeners) look forward to learning more about gardening from: our guest speakers, each other, volunteering at our community beautification sites, visiting gardens on our Garden Tour, assisting at our Plant Sales, helping with our Front Garden Recognition Programme, and other related programmes and activities.
New members and guests are always welcomed.
