Ottawa Horticultural Society
District 2
The mission of the Ottawa Horticultural Society is to cultivate a passion for horticulture in Ottawa by sharing knowledge, fostering community engagement, and promoting sustainable practices and biodiversity that connect people with nature and each other. We have a long history; the OHS started in 1892 and is a non-profit society open to all gardeners who enjoy sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge of gardening. Our volunteers contribute time and talent to support the establishment of community-led gardens, share knowledge at monthly talks, encourage best practices to sustain pollinators and biodiversity, host plant sales and exchanges, support youth gardening science projects, and organize garden tours. And much, much more.
Gardening is more than just about plants – it is a journey of learning and sharing that connects us with nature and with each other. Whatever one’s age, ability or level of ambition, gardening can provide a sense of purpose, accomplishment and fulfillment. Visit out website to learn more.
