Niagara on the Lake Horticultural Society
District 9
We are one of the oldest horticultural groups in Ontario!
As a charity organization run by volunteers, our mission is to encourage and educate members and the public about gardening, horticulture, and the environment.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive group, where everyone — from novice to expert gardeners — will find a warm welcome among fellow garden enthusiasts.
Join us in nurturing a love for gardening in our community!
Our Monthly meetings that are collegial gatherings where you can share ideas and issues with your fellow gardeners. These meetings also include a roster of industry and expert Guest Speakers on a far reaching range of garden, horticultural and environment topics. Our Annual Plant Sale on May 10th is an event that is on the calendars of gardeners throughout our region and beyond! Our Tulip Bulb Pop Up Sale will be held in early June.
On July 11th, 2026, The Gardener's Garden Tour of homeowner gardens is always a huge success and celebrates the beauty and creativity that result from our member gardeners' devoted labours.
Our Community Outreach includes: providing a pollinator garden for Niven Rd allotments, maintenance of William Nassau Park gardens as well as two new garden plans for the near future and gardening classes for our members and the public.
Flowers for Seniors twice a year, volunteers create flower arrangements which are delivered to seniors through- out the area.
The proceeds of our fund-raising events contribute to three horticultural scholarships. One at Niagara Parks School of Horticulture and two at Niagara College School of Horticultural and the Environment.
