About Us

Come join us at the Thunder Bay Horticultural Society.
We welcome experienced gardeners to share their knowledge and skills along with new gardeners to come and learn with us.
We have monthly meetings and guest speakers who share their passions with us.
In the month of May/June we hold a plant sale and Garden Tours during the summer in July & August.
Our Beautification Award nominations run throughout the summer with presentations taking place at our October meeting.
November is our the Annual General Meeting which is followed by a potluck supper along with a silent auction, twoonie bags and canned food drive for the LU student kitchen cupboards.

The 2022 events are in the Calendar listed below.

In 2023 it will be the 100th anniversary for our society and planning is already underway.

General Information:

Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, February-June & September-November.

Our May meeting consists of -
6:30 pm- Public proclamation for Year of The Garden, with Mayor Mauro.
Cake & refreshments, General Meeting,
Guest Speaker - Guest speaker- Lee-Ann Chevrette- Boreal Forest Teas-Topics-Forest and plant ecology, botany, herbalism, ethnobotany, and wild edible and medicinal plants.

Please note that COVID protocols will be in place at the door and the wearing of masks are of a personal choice.

Join Us!

We welcome you to come out and see what we are all about. You can drop in without a membership just to see what goes on.
Memberships offer a 10% discount at some local garden shops & nurseries and are very reasonably priced.
