Bancroft Horticultural Society (BHS)
District 3
The Bancroft Horticultural Society (BHS) became part of OHA in 1999.
The objective of the Horticultural Society is to encourage and promote interest, learning, sharing, and improvement in horticulture, through volunteering together.
The Society maintains several gardens, within the Town of Bancroft, with the help of members, who volunteer their time and knowledge.
Bancroft Horticultural Society hosts 2 plant sales per year and these are in May and September, which provides the community the opportunity to purchase plants for their homes and gardens.
General Membership meetings are held each month on the third Thursday of each month, except for December.
These meetings include guest speakers who share their knowledge and experience on horticultural-related topics, and monthly flower competitions for those who wish to participate.
Throughout the summer months, outings and tours are organized for our Society members, so they can see other gardens and gain more information on flowers and plants from our part of Ontario.
We do have a Bancroft Horticultural Society Facebook group and encourage everyone to visit and share gardening-related information and photos to this group.
