Cramahe Horticultural Society (known as Apple Country Garden Club) is located in Apple Country, along the shores of Lake Ontario in the village of Colborne. Our club is comprised of 2 villages that were joined when the Township amalgamated. Colborne and Castleton have been members of the OHA since it was formed in 1966, but our history goes back to 1906. At that time the Agriculture Society allowed the Horticultural Society to become part of their organization and we have been going strong ever since.
We have monthly meetings that have Speakers and or Workshops.
We established an Ecology Garden on Rotary Centennial Park Drive in Colborne. We have raised beds that are planted annual with vegetables for community sharing, and perennial plants for enjoyment. It is situated by Colborne Creek and has a nice walking trail into the sub-division behind.
We maintain the Community Gardens - Castleton Town Hall Garden; Gazebo Garden in Victoria Square Park; and Colborne Art Gallery and Heritage Cramahe Garden.
We are also involved the the 4-Club Garden Tours (Port Hope, Cobourg, Grafton and Cramahe).
