Strathroy-Caradoc Horticultural Society

District 10

About Us

The Strathroy-Caradoc Horticultural Society is a community-based group of volunteer gardeners dedicated to sharing their love of gardening. Our members range from absolute beginner to vastly experienced and Master Gardener. We're linked by our common interest and love of our community.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., except for July, August and December. In June, we enjoy a Road Trip to a garden or garden centre. Visit https://gardenstrathroy-caradoc.org/all-events , for event details.

Membership is available to any resident of Strathroy-Caradoc and surrounding area with an interest in gardening, plants, the environment and landscaping. We encourage interest and improvement in horticulture, with monthly society meetings, plant sales, community garden planting and maintenance, garden tours and learning opportunities for members.

Membership benefits include discounts at area garden centres, planned social events, newsletters, expert guest speakers and the ability to be actively involved in the beautification of the community.

Come out, share and exchange gardening information, hear great speakers, meet other gardeners, and have your gardening questions answered.

Membership fees: $15 per person, $20 per family (2 people)

The Strathroy-Caradoc Horticultural Society is a volunteer organization that has been growing strong since 1944. We continue to encourage interest and improvement in horticulture. We host monthly meetings, respecting the theory and practice of horticulture, encourage the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers in both private and public gardens, arrange field trips, promote the protection of the environment and distribute horticultural information on social media and in our newsletter.

Our official emblem is the yellow chrysanthemum, chosen by our founders because it is the brightest and longest lasting of the mum flowers. Our banner, created by member Lynda Early, proudly displays our heritage at every OHA function.
