SUMMARY:CHS April Meeting: ‘Garden Seduction’ + ‘Intro to BioBlitz’
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: MEETING IS SET FOR TUESDAY APRIL 29\, DUE TO FEDERAL ELECTION ON MONDAY. \nCannington Horticultural Society warmly welcomes Ken Brown for our April Meeting. Ken has always been fascinated by green things that grow and this fascination led him to choose horticulture as his university field of study and down a long and interesting garden path that became his life. \nJoin us as Ken allows his passion for all things horticultural to flow out to his audience. His presentation “Garden Seduction” will include anecdotes\, facts\, a wealth of experience and a generous sprinkling of humour. Ken entices even the blackest of thumbs to want to go out into the garden and partake of all of its benefits and pleasures. Participation in things horticultural can have positive benefits in so many aspects of our lives and Ken enthusiastically identifies and demonstrates how we can all improve those lives by spending some time Dallying in the Dirt. \nCHS is excited to announce that author and scientist Richard Dickinson will be offering an “Intro to BioBlitz” session just before Ken’s main presentation. This is a great opportunity to learn about BioBlitz and how we can organize and hold one in our own community. Please consider arriving by 7pm to attend this informative session. \nApril Flower Show – first of the season! Calling all members to bring in their garden treasurers. Entries to be in place by 7pm for judging. Check out the CHS 2025 Yearbook for all the classes and get ready for a bright and beautiful show season. New members are encouraged to enter – contact the Flower Show Committee Chair if you have questions. Youth Classes  – calling all youth\, we invite you to enter as well. \nDoors open: 6:30  Intro to BioBlitz to start @7:15pm Main Presention 7:30pm

SUMMARY:Credit Valley Horticultural Society May Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker John Kruk will speak to us about Bonsai.  John’s passion for bonsai started close to 3 decades and has become more intensive the last 20 years! For him\, Bonsai practice is both engaging and relaxing way to spent time while connecting to nature.  When John is not caring for his Bonsai\, he can be found enjoying his other hobbies: pottery\, wood carving and leather work. \nJohn is the president for Misseto Bonsai Club. They meet in Etobicoke \, however\, their members are from both Toronto and Peel regions. \n——- \nOur meeting location has changed for 2025! Until further notice we will be at the Erin Mills Twin Arena. \nVisitors always welcome. There is a nominal fee of $5 to help offset the cost of speakers.
