SUMMARY:Wild Woodland Flowers: Can you grow them?
DESCRIPTION:𝓦𝓲𝓵𝓭 𝓦𝓸𝓸𝓭𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓕𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓻𝓼: 𝓒𝓪𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓰𝓻𝓸𝔀 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓶?  \n\n Aleksia Shoalts\, Master Gardener Thursday\, May 14\, 2026 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM St. John the Evangelist Church Hall\, 3428 Portage Road\, Niagara Falls\, ON\n\nGuest Speaker  Flower Show  Refreshments  Door & Draw Prizes\n\nFor a few short weeks in the spring of each year\, the forest floor bursts with colour from ’Spring Ephemerals’ such as Trilliums\, Trout lilies and Virginia Bluebells which quickly disappear as the tree canopies fill out. Join us for an evening as Aleksia explains the lifecycle of these amazing plants\, as well as why they’re so difficult to grow and transplant.\nAlexandria Shoalts is a Master Gardener\, former garden columnist for the Voice of Pelham\, and past executive member of both the Pelham Garden Club and Simcoe Horticultural Society. She enjoys the daily challenges and rewards of gardening on her country property in North Pelham\, ranging from tackling invasives\, to keeping out deer\, to growing cut flowers\, integrating native plants\, gardening for butterflies\, and growing food and vegetables for her family\, including her three young boys (ages one\, three\, and five who are always eager to help!). Alexandria earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Waterloo and completed her Master Gardener training at the University of Guelph. In her free time\, she enjoys forest walks and foraging for wild mushrooms with her other half\, explorer and nature author Adam Shoalts.
