$3.Cannington and Beaveton Horticultural Societies have joined together to offer a summer challenge for our young gardeners. Register with either club for the Sensory Garden Challenge and join the fun! Only $3 to become a Youth Members in either club.
A garden is the web of life, connecting all our senses. We don’t just see a plant or tree and its form, we can smell its aroma–therapy, and touch the velvety, silky or crinkly leaves and bark. Listen to the wind rustle the leaves or the pop of a seed pod, or maybe even hear it growing. And of course, we can taste nature on our plates as plants provide nearly all human nutrition. Here’s your chance to connect with nature and win cash prizes! Open to Youth Members: 8–12 and 13–17 years old.
Challenge runs throughout the summer and end date is August 30th. Photos and/or video submissions of the Sensory Garden due on August 30th. Judging of all entries will take place at that time and winners selected – $400. in prize money to be awarded to the top 6 gardens.
