Youth Challenge – Sensory Garden
June 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm$3.
Cannington and Beaverton Horticultural Societies have joined together to offer a challenge to the young gardeners! You could win some of the $400. in prize money that will be awarded to the top six gardens judged and selected from all entries. Participants must be registered with either CHS or BHS to enter the challenge, only $3. for Youth Memebership.
Create a Sensory Garden of your very own! A garden is the web of life, connecting all our senses. We don’t just see a plant or tree and its form, we can smell its aroma–therapy, and touch the velvety, silky or crinkly leaves and bark. Listen to the wind rustle the leaves or the pop of a seed pod, or maybe even hear it growing. And of course, we can taste nature on our plates as plants provide nearly all human nutrition.
Here’s your chance to connect with nature and win cash prizes! Open to Youth Members of either CHS or BHS: 8–12 and 13–17 years old.
For more info or to register please contact Sandy at: email@example.com
Or attend the June 27, 2022 CHS Meeting to register in person. Submission of garden photos/video for judging due August 30, 2022.
