Cannington Horticultural Members are in for a treat! An exclusive free Garden Tour just for 2021 CHS Members – Two spectacular gardens, one Sunday in July! Can just two gardens really make a tour? In this case, either one of these extraordinary and stunning properties could be a tour as they both offer a multiple of ‘ecosystem’ areas each with a wide variety of of plants and design elements. First is Hedgerow Farms, the home of Neil and Carolyn Turnbull. This 150 acre oasis is a garden on a monumental scale. We will be taken on a guided tour by the Master Landscape Architect Neil himself, meandering through several of his planting zones from the mediterranean rock garden to the cypress tree alley, conifer collection and more. From 7 acres of peonies to water ponds and more there is much to see!
Second we will visit the garden of Carole Ditomaso, a lifelong horticulturist who brought over 1000 plants to the property when she moved in. Carole’s garden also features multiple ‘ecosystems’ and planting styles from wild woodland gardens to formal parre-terre and a large plant packed pond. These gardens are a Master Class in how landscaping with plants and in tune with the terrain can create multiple ‘zones’ on the
same property. Wear great walking shoes – these gardens are expansive!
If you wish to join us – you may purchase a CHS Membership. All visitors must be fully vaccinated and be a 2021 CHS Member by the tour date, Sunday July 11, 2021
