A Garden for the Birds

Wild birds are currently facing a multitude of threats across North America and many bird species are in decline. Master Gardener Julianne Labreche will review the most common threats and provide gardeners with some practical, positive ways to encourage birds to visit our gardens and make our gardens more bird friendly year-round.

Speaker Julianne Labreche has been a Master Gardener for over a decade. She is a member of the Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton. She is also certified as a master naturalist. Her nature and garden articles are published regularly in Lee Valley Tools. Currently, Julianne is Vice President of the Ottawa Horticultural Society.
Julianne’s garden is certified with the Canadian Wildlife Federation and with Monarch Watch. She is a recipient of two Ontario Service Medals for her volunteer work. She loves to garden ‘on the wild side’ with a focus on native plants, pollinators and birds.
